Tiarotec (Thiamazole) is indicated for the treatment of hyperthyroidism, as well as for preoperative preparation of patients undergoing thyroidectomy. This medication works by inhibiting the synthesis of thyroid hormones, resulting in a decrease in the production of these hormones and, therefore, a control of symptoms associated with hyperthyroidism. Tiarotec is recommended for use in patients with Graves’ disease and those with diffuse toxic goiter.
