Prevention of vitamin D deficiency: Preventive administration of DIBASE is recommended in all conditions characterized by an increased risk of deficiency or increased need. In general, it is recognized that prevention of vitamin D deficiency should be undertaken:
- Systematically in newborns (especially premature babies), in infants, in pregnant women (last trimester) and in breastfeeding women, in the elderly and possibly in children and adolescents in case of insufficient sun exposure.
- Under the following conditions:
- Minimal sun exposure or intense skin pigmentation, unbalanced dietary regimes (low in calcium, vegetarian, etc.), extensive dermatological disorders or granulomatous diseases (tuberculosis, leprosy, etc.);
- Patients undergoing anticonvulsant treatment (barbiturates, phenytoin, primidone);
- Patients receiving long-term corticosteroid therapy;
- digestive disorders (intestinal malabsorption, cystic fibrosis or cystic fibrosis);
- Liver failure
